Pre-shipment inspection for goods exported to Libya

We inspect your goods in the country of origin before loading, confirm they match the contract and the Libyan and international standards, and issue an inspection certificate that can be verified online.

What is pre-shipment inspection?

Pre-shipment inspection (PSI) is an independent check carried out by an impartial inspection body while the goods are still at the supplier's factory or warehouse, before they are shipped to Libya. It gives the importer, the bank and the regulators confidence that what is shipped is what was agreed: the right quantity, quality and specification.

Altomuh for Inspection and Conformity is a Type A third-party inspection body accredited to ISO/IEC 17020 by the Libyan Accreditation Center (LIBAC). We have no commercial interest with either the supplier or the importer.

What we check

  • Quantity, count and weights against the packing list and invoice
  • Product quality and conformity to adopted Libyan, Arab and international standards
  • Packing and its suitability for transport
  • Marking and labelling, country of origin, production and expiry dates
  • Sampling for laboratory analysis when required
  • Loading supervision and container sealing on request

Where we inspect

We inspect at origin, inside and outside Libya. Countries where we have inspected shipments bound for Libya include China, Turkey, the UAE, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Vietnam, Greece, the United Kingdom, Poland, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Argentina and Colombia.

How it works

  1. Request: send the shipment details, proforma invoice and supplier details.
  2. Scheduling: we confirm the cost, date and inspection location.
  3. On-site inspection: the inspector examines the goods and documents the results with photos.
  4. Certificate: the inspection certificate is issued with a unique number you can verify on our website.
